Wind Turbine Computational Fluid Dynamics Research

As an undergraduate student at the Illinois Institute of Technology I participated in the PURE Undergraduate Research Program under Dr. Dietmar Rempfer. My work was a continuation of work done by Peter Kozak (a Masters student at the time) to study the aerodynamic performance of vertical-axis wind turbines using computational fluid dynamics simulations. The focus of the study was to understand the performance characteristics of these turbines when placed in close proximity to each other.
