IIT High School Build-It Competition Facilitator

While an undergraduate student at the Illinois Institute of Technology I helped program and facilitate the first IIT Build-It Competition: An Impromtu Design Competition for high school students from around the Chicago area. Build-It was an engineering competition where teams of high school students competed against one another to design and build a solution to an engineering problem that they would only discover the day of. Student teams were restricted in the time and materials that they had available to them and competed to design and build watercraft that could stay afloat with as much mass added as possible before sinking. My role as a facilitator started early in the initial planning phases through the end as a staff member for the event to assist the program’s operation.
